Panic attacks are mainly caused by overblown proportions of distress and anxiety. Though each of us might feel anxious as we go through our day to day activities, when this anxiety reaches to a point where it cannot be stopped or controlled anymore, panic attacks occur. These can be caused by stress or genetics. Though you cannot control genetics, you can still develop ways by which you can address the area of stress.
There are ways by which you can deal with panic attacks. You have to maintain these habits to keep your anxiety level at a controllable degree.
1. Exercise.
Exercise never fails to relieve the body of stress. Aside from doing so, this can also help the body function well. When you are exercising, you will likely be filled with thoughts that will add up to your confidence in yourself and in your image. The more you exercise, the more you will be bent on developing your body the way you want it to look like. Thus, you will not be able to pay attention to other thoughts that may trigger your attacks. You will stay away from negative and depressing thoughts that will spark the flame of the attacks. You can engage yourself in exercises such as Tai Chi and Yoga. These are relaxing practices that will help you keep away from potentially dangerous thoughts.
2. Right Diet.
Eat nutritious foods every meal time. You should have a balanced diet complete with fruits, vegetables, and fiber-rich food. Take in plenty of water in order to maintain your anxiety at a controllable level. Stay away from alcohol and junk foods. Avoid taking caffeine, nicotine, and other substances that can worsen or increase the frequency of your attacks.
3. Right attitude.
Maintain composure while dealing with your attacks. You should not be scared that you get to experience these attacks. Though you may know of potential situations that may trigger your attacks, you should face these situations with all the courage and strength that you can muster. The moment you conquer your fear, you will be able to slowly break away from the cycle of your attacks. Continual avoidance and dependence on medications that can immediately numb your senses will not help you prune the root of your problem.
You should learn to educate and control your mind to deal with certain situations to teach it that these situations are normal and harmless.
